CoupleFi Redesign
CoupleFi is an application in the pre-launch phase designed to make sharing financial responsibilities easier for people in relationships.
Problem
As an entrepreneur, my advice to other software-focused start-ups is to make do with something, even if it’s imperfect, until you’re confident in the product. What feels visually right today will change as product-market fit develops.
No matter how painful it was as a designer, I followed that advice as I’ve built out the MVP for CoupleFi. As I’ve engaged with more potential customers, it’s become clear that part of the value proposition for the product is having a design that feels modern and approachable. Money conversations can be daunting, especially for people who don’t like numbers.
Solution
I created a visual direction that identifies key brand traits, establishes design language through style tiles, and mockups of key screens using the new identity.
Impact
Users in the pre-launch phase have expressed excitement about the new visual direction. However, the work’s greatest impact will come from establishing a design system that enables quicker production of both UI prototypes in Figma and shipped software in production.
